Event Coordinator
I was born and raised in a Cleveland neighborhood filled with people dedicated to social justice. As this neighborhood has grown and developed over the years, I have witnessed first-hand the rift between longtime and new residents. I know the solution to our common problem is rooted in connectivity and collective action, rather than NIMBY negativity. I am grateful to be a part of this movement dedicated to abundant, affordable housing and inclusive, sustainable communities.
McKenzie brings a decade of experience in non-profit communications, programs and events to her role as the Event Coordinator for YIMBY Action. Her education and background has been rooted in her desire to build community through shared experiences. From managing galleries, to coordinating summer park programs, and facilitating virtual events for seniors, McKenzie’s previous work reflects her passion for gathering people in our collective pursuit of liberation. McKenzie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University and a Master’s Degree In Strategic Communication from Columbia College Chicago.
